Weather: 10-15 mph East wind, cool front fizzling out
Tide: 0.1ft Low at 8pm, 1.8ft High at midnight

It is finally the time of year when the bigger sharks migrate through our area chasing schools of tarpon along the way. We caught bait during the day on Saturday and setup on a relatively new stretch of beach a couple of hours before sunset. This beach looked very promising with no obstructions, always ideal when targeting larger sharks. We were delayed from running baits out for a while as a storm crept up behind us as we were rigging up. We eventually ran baits out while it drizzled and immediately had a few blacktips play the "pickup and drop" game. We caught one around 6ft at sunset but things slowed down significantly after that. At midnights peak tide, I hooked up on the 9/0 and after a good fight landed an 8'7" lemon pushing 250lbs, my largest of the species. We had fresh 25lb baits out all night on the 12/0s that never got touched...gotta keep putting the time in and it will happen soon.
