Tide: 1ft low at 8am, 2.1ft low at 2pm
Finally! The past couple of weekends have been rough. The tarpon migration, which should have begun at the beginning of April, has finally started. Maybe. It's still hard to tell. The water has been off color due to the freshwater releases from the Big O and our original tarpon spot has been plagued with dead grass. My dad and I went out this morning and things looked grim the whole morning. Around 11:45am, the clouds cleared away and the sun poked out...it was picture perfect except for the relentless 20mph wind. We were ready to call it quits when this est. 50lb tarpon grabbed my pinfish and put on quite the aerial display. I'm telling ya, they intentially hit when you least expect it. Only about a 15 minute fight but well worth the effort for the first poon of the year!
