The weather forecast for today called for lots of wind, clouds, and storms. This limited us to fishing the backcountry areas for the third friday in a row. Josh and I launched at 8am and after a short paddle, were on fish. Ladyfish, tarpon, mullet, and snook, were all showing themselves in this one particular windblown area (maybe 15x20 yards). We caught a bunch of big ladyfish (which were bycatch) while casting to the many rolling tarpon. Josh had a monster overslot snook on near a dock but too much drag caused the trebles to straighten! The action subsided so we fished some other areas..I ended up getting 5 snook while Josh had the "fish of the day" with a fat 23" trout...suprised us to see such a big trout back there. Everything was caught on the Rapala X-Rap today.
