Tide: 0ft Low at 6am, 1ft High at 12pm
The marine forecast called for light winds today which has been rare around here lately. I headed out to the flats at sunrise and other than two mullet fisherman, I was the only soul out there. I miss fishing midweek. I covered a lot of water and eventually found a shallow flat that was absolutely loaded with redfish. I caught 3 overslots to 30.5" along with 5 midslot fish by pitching jerkbaits to cruisers/tailers and casting topwaters to mullet schools. This time of year if you can coordinate a break in the weather with a good tide, take advantage because fish are generally in a happy, "eat anything" mood on these days.
