Tide: 2.0ft High at 2pm
Took a break from the sharks and fished for redfish this afternoon. I started off with a bunch of rats on a DOA shrimp until they ripped it to shreds. I forgot to bring extra DOAs today but luckily there was a lone package of Exude crabs hidden in my tackle tray. I made three casts after rigging it on a leadhead and got garbaged by a big one..It came up to the surface and shook its head like a big snook. The funny part was I actually caught this same 34" redfish back on May 18! I could tell by the single spot on one side of the tail and none on the other. The reds stayed deep during the heat of the day (can't blame them...damn hot out there), but I did manage a couple more before calling it at 2pm.
