A few of us went sharkin on Thursday night, two days past the full moon. The baits didn't last long before getting picked up but we lost one shark on the sandbar and missed the hookset on two others due to reel malfunction. As the moon cleared the horizon, the 12/0 took off on a slow and steady run. I hit him hard with the running man technique which seemed to awaken the beast. All I could do was hang on for a couple of minutes while the guys fetched me the harness. A solid 20 minutes later and he was on the beach...an 8'2" bull with astounding girth! We couldn't even move him!
