Weather: 5-10 mph NW wind
Tide: -0.2ft Low at 1am

In the morning I launched in Matlacha and concentrated on a large sandbar to get stingray for shark bait. While poling the area I noticed schools of redfish cruising up and down the bar in between the rays. So, I made a compromise..I would spear a ray then alternate and sightcast to a red. This worked out nicely as I got plenty of baits in the cooler and four reds to 30.5" on DOA CALs. I went home, took a nap for an hour, then headed to a beach down south at 7pm. It was a slow night with few runs but we caught a 6'2" blacktip and a 6'6" bull. Oh and John caught a giant scalloped hammerhead.
