Tide: 0.2ft low at 2pm
This morning I wanted to scout some areas for the Calusa Blueway Tournament next week and load up on shark bait if possible. The tide was higher than predicted due to the southeast wind so I messed around some oyster bars for an hour with a skitterwalk. I had a suprise giant snook on after a few casts but pulled the hooks..caught a few fiesty trout and then searched for rays. Found a bunch milling around the flat along with a few sharks. The tide reached the magic depth and all of a sudden tailers started appearing everywhere! These reds were hungry! I believe I hooked 11 and landed 8 on Riptide jerkbaits, all around 23-26". Of course with my luck these fish will be nowhere to be found next weekend.
