Weather: 5-10 mph southwest wind, sunny, humid
Tide: 1.0ft slack tide from 7am-noon

While baby tarpon fishing on memorial day I noticed there were a bunch of redfish and shark cruising the shallow grassflats. The redfish were tailing in about 10" of water and the sharks were finning in 2' of water. Fellow Hobie Fishing Team member Kyle Petrick joined me today around 8:30am in search of some shallow water action. It wasn't like memorial day but there were a few redfish around, all cruises no tailers. We both ended up with a couple redfish before the tide got too high. Next objective was sharks. They were easy to find as they were finning all over the flats and potholes. I caught a 6' lemon after soaking a bait for less than two minutes. You can see in one of the pictures that the shark actually bit and latched onto one of my pedal fins, in addition to chewing my kayak a couple times. It really started to get hot so I called it early while Kyle continued to chase redfish around the mangroves.
