Weather: Less than 5mph wind, storms present
Tide: 0.1ft at 6:30pm

I wasn't planning on fishing but the afternoon storms passed early today which usually makes the wind die down. I loaded the Native up and hit Pine Island at 5:15pm. There was hardly any wind which was nice for a change. The tide was still outgoing so I paddled to the closest flat and immediately found semi-tailers. I call them semi-tailers because they tail for a second and they go right back down. I spooked a few from bad casts until they finally disappeared. There was so much activity from mullet, stingrays, sharks, and redfish on the way to the second flat that I stopped numerous times to fish.

I found a pod of small tailing redfish and caught one right away on an Exude RT slug. He was about 21". Not long after I see a snook cruising with its dorsal and tail fin out of the water. I make a long cast and give it a twitch when she came by it..and BAM, fish on. I only had 15# fluoro leader so I loosened the drag and let her run. She went 31". I paddled all over after catching the snook but the tide just wouldn't turn. Around sunset it finally turned and as the water climbed up the redfish were active again. I casted to several tailers but with the thickness of the turtlegrass, could not get a bite. I did catch a few trout on the way in casting to rays. May go out tomorrow evening if it's calm again.
