Weather: 5 mph East wind, sunny, warm
Tide: 1.1ft Low at 12pm, 1.9ft High at 5pm

Today was a long day on the water. I started off at 6am in a remote brackish water area for bait. An hour later I punched through the breakers off the beach and began my search for tarpon. On the way out I passed by the largest school of spanish macs I've ever seen..literally 2-3 miles of bait getting busted and macs flying through the air. Once past the mayhem, I found solitude with a small school of tarpon all to myself. I only had two baits to work with and unfortunately both were taken by sharks. The school scattered so I called it a morning. I grabbed some lunch and then met up with my dad bay side at noon. I poled the same area as last week and found a bunch of tarpon laid up. After a few refusals I threw down the anchor and played the waiting game. It took all but a minute before the Penn Battle started to scream and a poon to catapult in the air! A short 10 minutes later and he was yakside for the photo session. We continued seeing tarpon skyrocket on bait until 5pm but could not entice any more to bite.
