Today Josh and I fished Matlacha to look for big black drum that normally appear around the oyster bars this time of year. We covered a lot of water but did not find them so we decided we might as well hit the mangroves to salvage the morning. We ended up with a few reds to 27" and a 30" snook, all on topwater (spook jr/skitterwalk)..snook season just opened on tuesday so the 30"er went home with me.
