Weather: 10-15 mph wind, partly cloudy, storms present
Tide: -0.2ft @ 8:30pm

Today I decided to make an afternoon trip in Pine Island to catch the low tide near sunset for tailing redfish. I was on the water at 4:30pm and hit one of my baby tarpon holes. They were rolling regularly but all were less than 5lbs. I managed 3 bites but no hookups. A lot of them were in schools of 3-4 and were rolling super tight to the mangroves. I left the tarpon hole and headed out to the flat. The tide was the perfect depth but the redfish never showed up. I spotted 2 small tailing reds in 6" of water but couldn't get a hit. I spooked quite a few heading back to the launch that were cruising so they are definitely around. I think the next evening low tide (June 4th) they should appear as last year I had some good action around this time.
